Day 27 - It's all about the power

Just watched the 'state of the country' message and wished I had some cell phone numbers, but have to admit realistically, I don't have that power. Last night we discussed King Xerxes and his advisors vs the women of their kingdom, and how tough it is being a woman these days - especially in the workworld. Today as I look at my life and its ups and downs, I realize much is all about power. Power I don't have, power I wish I had or want, and power I wish others did not have over me.

My goal seems passive to some as it is all about releasing my power - or rather my desire for power and self control to another Power.  (Trust me submission is NOT passive.) El is the first name of God to focus on. El means God, great, mighty, strong, prominent - from Genesis 28:3 “And may God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a company of peoples.” A few words and phrases stood out:

Almighty - Having absolute power; all-powerful

El's actions toward His creation (me!): Bless You – Make you fruitful – multiply you to be a company of peoples: an assembly of people, for holy purposes, consisting of people from the same tribe or group – people with the same generational purpose

In my words: God – the only absolute, all powerful, all mighty and strong one, is the only one with the right and power to bless me, by making me fruitful, and to multiply me, that my little light could  become an entire tribe with the same holy purpose – that generations after me might honor and glorify the Lord. Now that's Power! Focusing on God's power also reminds me not to deny God's power or try to steal His power by assuming or pretending that I can succeed without Him, instead remembering that I cannot fail if I depend on His power instead of mine. His plans will fulfill my destiny.  That thought makes me look forward to a victorious future knowing that El is "in my corner" making plans to bless me.

Breakfast: Chicken, sugar snap peas and egg fritatta
Lunch: Swad topped with ham, onion, colby cheese - pictured with the nifty Zyliss cheese cutter - one of my favorite kitchen tools.
Dinner: Finely chopped romaine topped with avocado, sweet red pepper and lime juice. Served with a few Xochitl tortilla chips. Very yummy - a lite version of a taco salad.

Exercise: 60 min - Bosu ball, upper body strength workout, treadmill, aerobic dance, jumprope
