Day 75 - Amazon Tea and Choices

Keeping it light today, but it wasn't planned.  A few days of forgetting the Vitamin C, D and other basics was not worth it, and whatever virus got through the weakened immunity continues to affect the tummy.  Liquids are staying down so I guess the body wants to fast.  Friend Rox tells me there's a possibility I also got run down from trying to do a hundred things.  You think?

Powerful, beautiful and sweetly comforting carrot juice and Amazon Tea are two things the body always welcomes.  I discovered the Amazon Rainforest Tea at the Health Expo in Schaumberg, IL a few years ago (this year in June), and I know it is also served downtown Racine in a quaint coffee shop on Wisconsin Avenue - Circa Celeste where I've also had some of the best sprouted bread and Vegetable Miso soup.  Anyway, this tea is red, light, and a natural caffine-free energizer.  It is one of the few teas I like without honey or any sweetener.

Getting back to a hundred things... I used to think that was just my lot in life.  You know - so much to do and so little time... and that every need created a calling to fill the need - or at the least find someone who could.  Perhaps its that us type A ladies like to try everything!  I know that I will not live long enough to taste, read, see, experience all that I want to, so I will have to make some choices.

The Hebrew name of God for today is Elohey Avoteynu [el-oh-hay Av-oh-tay-new] meaning God of our Fathers.  In Acts 22:14 we are told that "The God of our fathers has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. "  The word chosen has been translated determined in advance.   That brings focus - and takes away concern about making the right choice.  As I, as a grandmother, pray for generations just born and some yet to come, I feel certain there have been others from generations before me who have prayed for me.  I know there were many pastors and spiritual leaders in our family background and that encourages me.  It also gives me an assurance that I can be confident to commit the lives and concerns of the newest family members to the God of our Fathers who has not changed since the beginning of time.  Acts 5:30 says "The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead".  If He could do that, and would do that for a single member of the human race, I would be a fool to think He would withhold anything good from me.  As long as the choices I make are guided by living a set-apart life (I Thessalonians 4:3) including to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, I'll have the freedom to choose between jobs, relationships or whatever, and will be in His will.  Amazing that many generations before I was born He, Elohey Avoteynu, God of our Fathers, planned that I would have access to His Words and therefore to know His will. Amazing.

Home-juiced carrots:
Just carrots and Jack La'Lanne's power juicer.
Easy to use, works great, and results are fresher and tastier than buying one glass of the juice pre-packaged for $3-$6.  I made about 5 glassfuls for under $3, and kept some of the carrots aside to cook for a sidedish.

Amazon-Rainforest Tea:
contains Chanca Piedra, Pedra, which literally means “stone breaker.” In the Amazon it has been used to relax the smooth muscles around the ureter and bile duct, easing the release of stones. It has also been used as a tonic for the digestive system
Jatoba, is another Amazon plant known to support digestive and pulmonary health.  Una de Gato is known for its antioxidanat properties and to stimulate the immune system.    Chuchuhuasi relaxes muscles and has been used for adrenal support.  Depending on the strength you prefer, you can get 2-4 cups of brewed tea from each teabag.  The package says 2-3 cups, but i like to fill my little 4 cup pot and let it steep for 5 minutes or so - just perfect for me. Great hot or iced.
