Day 88 - Ancient One and allergies

Of course I'm not talking about myself when I say ancient one :) - even though in the grandchildren's eyes I might qualify! The Ancient One is an Aramic name of God (Atik Yomaiya - Ancient One or Ancient of Days) found in Daniel 7:9 "As I watched, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient One [Ah-teek Yo-mah-ee-yah] took his seat." (transliteration of Ancient is "before, eternal, everlasting").  Through this name we can learn how God was before.  Before any thing or any one, He was.  Realizing God's immortality make His power and wisdom more real and meaningful to me.  Man's power and wisdom are often illustrated through incidents or lives that last like a candle blowing in the wind.  The Ancient One's power and wisdom, are not sudden or temporary.  Like His name, His power always was.  His wisdom always was. They are His character, and they will not change.  They are from everlasting to everlasting.  It is sure great to have a standard that is unchanging no matter the tide, the powers on earth, or any emotions man or woman might exhibit, His power is.  His wisdom is. Just as it always has been, and always will be.  That is a wonderful stabilizer for this gal.

I imagine you are a lot like me as we watch the political waters of wisdom and power ever fluctuating like the tide or a sudden tsunami.  Woosh!  They appear and grow suddenly sweeping everything before it as we watch amazed, and just as quickly disappear like a wave drawing back into the ocean. Just when you and I step out of the boat and onto the terra-firma of the power or wisdom of mankind, it ebbs and fluctuates causing us to lose our footing.  Splat on our faces we fall.  Having the earth crack and move as I run across chasm after chasm is not my idea of fun.  Yet life is full of adventure, God giving us his what and allowing us to choose the how.

Allergies - I've been having bouts of sudden shortness of breath and hives.  I've been playing the elimination game, and today got to mold.  When I took the homeopathic therapy for mold allergy there was relief in seconds.  The cough is down to about 5% of what it was right after a snack that had strawberries on top.  When I reviewed the incidents in the past few days, documenting the time and prior events linked every one to strawberries.  So - I will freeze the remaining berries and see if symptoms clear when I eliminate them for several weeks.  Half portions today.

Morning Strawberries - and banannas, and sliced almonds over Dean's probiotic cottage cheese.

Lunch strawberries came after a taco salad.  I pureed the few remaining berries and poured them over a little rice pudding.  Taco salad had tomatoes, mozzerella cheese, ground beef seasoned with cumin and topped with a few purposely broken Fritos.

Yummy, but all this wheezing is exhausting.  It's a relief right now to sit here and type away without that annoying shortness of breath.  Someone told me that strawberries are mold carriers and begin to mold right after being picked.  Perhaps in June I will try them fresh from the bush and see if the symptoms appear.  But until then, I'd rather breathe, thank you :)
