Sunday, April 17 and Monday, April 18 - Reality at home is that the umbilical of guardianship remains closely connected, and life's whirlwind continues on the sidelines.
A missionary visit and lunch at Old Country Buffet provided: Turkey, a fish filet, half a sweet potato, beets and carrots. Our grandson-in-law brought a dish of ice-milk with chocolate proving he's already learning how to keep the women in his life happy:)
An evening snack was all our still-full tummies would allow. Pictured here: Fresh mozerella rolled with prosciutto and basil. Served with whole-rye cracker. Found this delight at Ranger City Marketplace in Wausaukee, where we usually get the most tender beef you'd ever want to find. Side is rubbed beets, garnished with chives.
Monday - added Total Health vanilla protein powder to the creme brulee oatmeal carryout from Spiros. Rice milk and 1/2 Tbsp. Amaretto creamer restored the creamy delight of Friday's breakfast.
Lunch - remaining Broiled Cod from Friday, topped with pineapple, chives and coconut. It was, of course liberally sauced with coconut-lime sauce.
God has placed some wonderful people in my path as I wrangle with several complicated decisions. One today reminded me of El Ne'eman (Ehl Neh eh-mahn) - Faithful God. Deuteronomy 7:8-9 reminds me how God loved Israel and brought his chosen people out from Egypt, because He loved them and wanted to keep the oath he had sworn to their ancestors. I am then comforted with these words "From this you can know that your God is indeed God, the faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends grace to those who love him and observe his commandments, to a thousand generations." Every time I see a Jewish person, I think of this verse and am reminded that the same faithful God who kept his covenant with their people - that there would always be a remnant of Israel - is my faithful God too. So when I look at I Thessalonians 5:24 - I can accept it, believe it, and rest in it. The words: "The one calling you is faithful, and he will do it."
