Ready and willing I began the day with the Bender Ball. Inflatable, about the size of a basketball, but much squishier, I found it provides support and stability for crunches, planks, and other exercises usually impossible for me. What a physical workout.
Approaching God and others with humility makes me willing to hear and learn. Instead of telling God what to do (and hurry please), I listened this morning and obeyed, writing a few notes of apology. I figure if I am like a glass that is full (of myself), I will not have room for God - for His wisdom and instruction and help, and I won't have much to offer others either. What an emotional workout. I feel lighter when I clean a drawer or closet, and I feel amazing now that I've cleaned one of the rooms of my heart. Now I felt...
PREPARED FOR THE FEAST. And what a treat I had today. Before meeting my friends at a local restaurant (The Chancery) for lunch, I planned for success:
- If no healthy entrees, I'd look for 1-2 healthy items - no fried food, and order side dishes.
- Request substitutes if possible. (One restaurant in our town told us no substitutions were allowed for anything - needless to say no one in our party has returned there.)
- Eyeball the portions on the entree and move the 'abundance' to the side of the plate to take home.
The Chancery Family Pub: Family Dining located in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Kenosha, Waukesha, Mequon, Racine www.thechancery.com
Breakfast: Poached egg, Ezekiel bread with fruit-only raspberry jam, and mandarin oranges
Restaurant Lunch: Broiled Cod, Mixed vegetables (brocolli, carrot, peppers, zucchinni, sugar-snap peas). Everything was fresh and seasoned to perfection.
Dinner: Abundance - Chicken-Sausage lettuce wrap
Dessert: Sweeter than chocolate or tiramisu - Great friends and sweet conversation!
Highly recommended.
