Day 20 - Abiding

Have you ever started a 'diet' but found you couldn't 'abide' there - couldn't make the changes comfortable enough to consider forever or "home" part of you?  I sure have.  The difference with eating at the Lord's Table is to accept His strength to want to change and then to fill up at His Table before I go to the other things.  Abiding in Christ makes not just the food secondary, but all other things in life.  It also encourages me to fill up with His confirmation and power and that squeezes out the old habits and controlling desires.

John 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. As I abide in Christ, He fills me with new cravings that food could never satisfy.

I'm taking a little trip tomorrow and have breakfast ready in a nice little cold-food keeper.  The top goes in the freezer, and fits over the divided dish, keeping everything fresh all day if necessary.   I'll be bringing some of my breakfast food and see what is provided for the rest.

Breakfast:  Fried egg topped with mushrooms and onions. Half a grapefruit, peeled.

Mid-Morning Snack - High protein custard, caramel with pecans on top.  I will say the first time I tried this, I added a scoop for every serving - and it was too grainy.  One-half scoop per serving was just right.  I use Rice Protein.

Lunch:  Loved yesterdays tomato and marinated peas so much, I made another, and added cubes of hamburger steak.  Yummy and pretty too.

Dinner:  Salmon oriental stir-fry.  Cooked mushrooms and onions in toasted sesame oil, added cubed veggies including rutabaga, carrot, celery, and topped it off with apricots and water chestnuts.  I do like savory dishes with fruit.

See you tomorrow from niece Suzette's.
