Day 81 - My advocate

As guardian for a challenging family member, I often feel like I need an advocate to get the care and help needed.  Besides time consuming, often draining and nerve wracking, finding a lawyer who will support and believe in one's cause is seldom easy.  Despite many setbacks, small victories, disappointment in character , and lack of concern of some advocates, many bridges have been crossed, because of one advocate I could count on every time.

Sahadi (sah-hah-dee) - Advocate -  is God's name in Job 16:19 - "Even now, my witness is in heaven; my advocate is there on high."  Before I even present my case to this advocate (interchangeable with witness, judge) He has pre-paid my penalty!  I know I am not qualified to be declared not guilty.  There is nothing I can do to change the outcome, but He, the judge, has chosen out of love to step into my place and have the shame placed on His shoulders.  Words like amazing, incomprehensible, gratefulness and humbling come to mind.  The verdict is already settled and it is not guilty.  He pleads my cause, He redeems me (pays the ransom price), and in keeping with His promise, He revives me. (Psalm 119: 153-154.

This knowledge also makes my heart tender toward my charge, for God has the same verdict and the same defense for anyone who comes to Him in all humility. It also makes my desire change to pleasing Sahadi - the Lord for if we know that someone who loves us so mightily to by choice bear the repercussions of my decisions and responses, it certainly touches my heart to love back and not to want to grieve His heart.  I so long to let others know that they have a defender waiting in the wings, ready to support their cause and plead in their behalf.  I do not have to go it alone, for Sahadi - my Advocate - will be at my side.

Lots of paperwork to prepare today for the meetings tomorrow.  Focus on prayer and planning.

Morning - Carrot juice and water
Midday - Spinach and onion perogi cut in triangles, topped with fresh-tomato sauce and a sprinkle of mozzerella - very good
Snack:  Freshly homemade Macintosh applesauce - still warm ... mmmmmmmmmm
Evening smoothie - Mango, strawberries, pineapple, cream of coconut and a little rice milk. Dreamy :)
