Spending time at the Lord's Table, studying with Setting Captives Free, and really any 'successful' days all have one thing in common - the Cornerstone - Pinah - the Lord God. Isaiah 28:16 says "So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed" (NIV) - The King James Version ends saying the one who trusts will 'not make haste' and the Complete Jewish Bible says that 'he who trusts will not rush here and there.'
Boy is that me - always rushing here and there. Makes haste. So much to do, so little time. Yet, it is God who is speaking to me - first getting my attention to SEE Him and what He has done. I have to stop and look and take in something to really see it. And what does He want me to see but that He is the one who lay down the Cornerstone - a stone that has been tested already on my behalf. And a reminder that the one who sees what God has done and trusts in Pinah - the stone that makes a foundation firm, that "marks the structure's origin and is the base for all other construction" (Elizabeth VanderMeulen & Barbara Malda - His Names Are Wonderful) will never be dismayed.
Pinah (meaning stone from the father or from ancestors and the chief stone) clearly elaborates as VanderMeulen and Malda indicated, the source or origin of the stone and the priceless quality and heritage that I have to trust.
Not many people in any vocation have the opportunity to commune with the founder of their organization, to be taught by the One who lived the quality and heritage that have come to represent their people's goals and actions down through the generations. If I was speaking of 'just a job' here on earth and I knew I had the unqualified and complete support of the CEO of the most revered and long lived company, it would be hard to be dismayed, foolish to run here and there seeking anything else, and outright ignorant not to trust in his wisdom and experience, let alone his affection for me. But I am speaking of an eternal advocation. How much more important then is this lesson for me to 'stop and smell the roses'. To stop and see - recognize, keep looking, inspect, observe - Pinah - the Chief Cornerstone and let Him be the foundation for my day, my concern, my hope.
I tried to do an 'Aimee' here (that's my creative cooking granddaughter) but it doesn't look nearly as wonderful as it tasted. It's a protein-laced Rhubarb Cloud Pudding. . . the cloud being whipped cream with a packet of Stevia and a swirl of agave nectar for sweetening. A delightful breakfast and finished it for evening dessert.
Sweet Potato roasted with pork and sauerkraut is a yummy family favorite.
The more I study what makes food healthy and not, the less inclined I am toward pork. Ken and I have been discussing it and will do more research, but we are leaning toward using what is left in the freezer and then trying a year without - unless the further research changes our minds.
We will have the beef tongue tomorrow.
