Day 104 - Signs and Wonders

I just came from a wonderful prophecy conference by Friends of Israel.  Many of you know I rather consider myself a Messianic Gentile, so learning more about what is happening in and to Israel was an opportunity I would not want to miss.  Besides learning more about Covenant and Replacement Theology, we received many encouragements to bless God's chosen people.

With all the anti-Israel and anti-God changes in our government and country I was surprised recently to see the words "Act of God" still in place on our insurance policy.  How is it that we are 'allowed' to be reminded of God's sovereignty when catastrophe strikes, but not when positive miraculous events occur?  Many believers continue to look for those miraculous events - signs and wonders that God is in our midst.  Some are looking for signs of the times that show the return of the Lord is near.  God's word tells us to watch out for depending on such markers for the deceiver will perform counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

I've had many signs and wonders in my life.  Wonders like God moving the hearts of people from across town or across the country to unknowingly specifically provide the answer to a need - from a dozen eggs on the porch to 6 months of food in mystery packages. Or - God directing me to reach out to a stranger about to commit suicide or perform an act of faith that led to God's reuniting a couple about to divorce.

Signs are defined as communications and the sun, moon and stars are part of those amazing messages from God.  Who has not stood in awe of God with the view of a sunset, sunrise, or a clear nights view of the stars. Wonders include miracles, marvels, wondrous works(things that happen which contradict scientific law or are otherwise impossible to explain).If the deceiver puts counterfeit signs and wonders on TV or uses holograms, how will I tell if  those are from The God of Signs and Wonders - El Otot V'moftim (V'mofteem). 

The signs and wonders of God always glorify God -  Psalm 77:14 -Thou art the God who workest wonders; Thou hast made known Thy strength among the peoples.  God's signs has his name written all over it.  It will not 'just' be amazing or astounding, but it will bring glory to His name.
The signs and wonders of God may not always be pleasant but they will bring us into closer relationship with Him -Deuteronomy 26:8 and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror and with signs and wonders;
The signs and wonders of God always align with scripture -Isaiah 25:1  O LORD, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name; For Thou hast worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.


I have to agree with Daniel (in 4:2) that " It has seemed good to me to declare the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me." and to thank the dear friend who provided a sign near my computer that says "Look what God has done."

Conference lunch - I skipped the bread, (but ate the chips!) and supplemented with half a Raw Revolution bar - chocolate and hazelnut.  I recently ordered a box of the spirulena which is great, but these will be the next order.

This evening snack was a mistake - but only because the cheese was not fresh - I thought it had a slightly acid scent, but 'finished it' anyway (my old hate-to-waste bad habit) and it was obviously growing mold because I had a very nasty reaction - wheezing and hives etc. worse than when I ate strawberries a few days old (very high mold content).  I ate a potato for something bland to go with allergy drops.  The crackers were awesome - Rye Crisp - 100% rye - no wheat - and of course avocado is always rich and creamy.
