Day 121 - Stronghold

Nahum 1:7
Adoni is good
a stronghold in time of trouble;
he takes care of those
who take refuge in him.

Stronghold - Ma'oz - steadfastness, impregnable, unassailable, a secure height

Interestingly  A Hebrew poem or hymn Ma'oz Tzur is named for its first two words in Hebrew, which mean " Stronghold of Rock" as a name or epithet for God. According to Wikipedia.com this poem is what inspired the song Rock of Ages with which we are so familiar.

In these days of troubles around the world it would be 'easy' to curl up in fear and trembling for what is already happening as well as what might be coming.

Knowing I have the greatest of strongholds - one who defends me from a secure height - is empowering and exciting.  As other scriptures remind us, Our stronghold is steadfast.  He does not change. He keeps His promises.  His strength is impregnable... nothing (NOTHING!) can break Him.  He is unassailable (not liable to doubt, attack, or question).  His word is final. He is above all.

These truths make me want to praise Him continually for the Almighty strength and security I have in Him.

As you have read, feasting at The Lord's Table (www.settingcaptivesfree.com) is also a place of security.  Depending on myself is asking for trouble, for I am as strong as the next salty or sweet or creamy treat.

I had cottage cheese and cherries this morning.  Otherwise it's been another day of focus and liquids - same tea as yesterday.
