Thursday we had meetings and tours and then grabbed carryout from the Norway Deli and zipped east to visit my Aunt. We brought with Black Forest sandwich - ham and roast beef with coleslaw on rye bread. It was a combination I'd not had before that was tasty - and filling. It came with a side of more coleslaw and potato chips. We also shared some blueberry crisp.
It was a nice break laughing with Auntie and sharing memories and the days devotions from Psalm 114 which ended "Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water. " Psalm 114:7-8 We remembered together all the things that God had done already and turned the rest to Him - I mean a God who can turn a rock into a pool? A God that could turn that hard rock into springs of water? What was there that such a God could not do! We left very refreshed.
Supper that evening was at the hospital cafeteria. One item on the menu other than the salad bar - Scalloped potatoes and ham and green beans. The "normal" serving was three scoops (the size of a soup ladle), so I requested one scoop. The price for the normal serving was $1.70!
