It is Saturday and I'm rebounding from:
- 5 days of restaurant eating - from greasy spoon to pretty good to unbelievably delightful on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
- 4 nights of 'sleeping' in motels that ranged from stinky to newly remodeled where they kept the light on, to above average Comfort. No matter how nice, there is still no place like home.
- Emotional upheaval and a myriad of decisions - but all accompanied by cheerful, helpful "angels"
- No computer access (was on past midnight yesterday - will take me till Monday to catch up)
- Not enough water (increasing by the hour)
- Not enough fiber. (Eating Fiber Plus Antioxidant chewy bar) (delicious - better than many candy bars I've had - not overly sweet) Found at Dollar store in Iron Mountain.
- Not enough exercise (did group PT Friday, walked 1-1/2 hours today and REBOUNDED)
Ezekiel 36:36 I, GOD, rebuild ruins and replant empty waste places. I, GOD, said so, and I’ll do it. (from the Message).
Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually and Physically we can become ruins and empty waste places. I felt this week like God was surprisingly restoring and renewing me in all four areas, because I expected to be 'poleaxed' by emotion and other challenges. Some relationships I thought I'd find in ruins were unexpectedly rebuilt. Some places I thought were empty and wasted were replanted with hope.
This verse is encouraging because first of all, God reminds me who is speaking - I, God. Secondly, He reminds me that my help is not needed to accomplish the workings of the world. It does not say I, God and Delores - nope, the "I" does not include me. I'm comforted too that he recognizes the places that need work are beyond human help. This passage creates for me an illustration of an artist who sees something that can be restored and gets excited to begin rebuilding. And I love the second reminder of authority, and covenant. God keeps His word. He said it and He will do it.
This is a portion of carryout Creme Brulee Oatmeal. It is better viewed on Friday's post - a topping of rich yellow Creme Brulee (sweetened with Agave Nectar) which I stirred into the oatmeal so it would all be flavored with that wonderful creamy vanilla flavor. Oh, so delicious. An amazing treat for breakfast. The first best breakfast ever. (Second goes to a wild rice cooked in milk, strawberries and pecans.
Carryout/abundance from last night - Crispy chicken oriental salad from Applebee's. The crunchy cole slaw is topped with a creamy viniagrette. Always good.
