Choose Life – Days 229-233 - Bring Life

A teenager shared today how her life was changed by a visit to Africa. Her transparency, emotion, and life-investment affected (convicted) many of those listening, and it struck me how blessed she is to have learned so young to choose life. One of the things she shared was how the church is to ‘bring” the gospel to others - and how:

With the passion of one who has seen God work she shared the truth behind Acts 13:47, “ For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” – that the most important word to her was the word ‘bring’. That it comes with us – we don’t just ‘send the message through others’ or ‘send money’ but if we truly care about others, we bring – we share the most important message of all – salvation. We choose to bring the message of life.

She saw a church begin with less than half-a-dozen people who were ready to put their time, strength, and lives on the line to show love to those around them. They helped in any way they could – building schools, churches, homes, and orphanages. The people began to feel loved and trusted these who cared for them, and joined them. The church, now with several hundred members, continues to be intensely involved in the neighborhoods, caring for people, bringing the message of life, and helping them to arise out of their situation.

So my lesson today is thanks to Kim… reminding me to choose life – and to bring life with my words and actions.
