Day 266 - There's No Excuse

No excuse for not eating healthy and attractively presented food when eating out. . . not when there are restaurants like the Grandview in Lake Geneva, WI.

The only thing middle-class about this dining experience was the very reasonable pricing. The service and ambiance are outstanding and customer care (two of our ladies were gluten intolerant) was caring and careful, providing us all equally with choices for a delicious and healthy dining experience. I’ve already recommended the restaurant to others.

I hope the photos do justice to my selections – Jumbo crab cakes enhanced with wasabi and rice wine (a very pleasing toasted flavor). They were served with a bed of greens and wild rice – and just the right fruity accent of mandarin oranges and pineapple. The creation’s topper was a crown of sesame potato sticks. Wow. Crunch, flavor, fresh quality, and presentation made for a delightful meal. The entrĂ©e came with a dinner salad of greens and dressing of choice (creamy lemon vinaigrette for me). The dressing was so delicious (as was my friend’s creamy raspberry vinaigrette) that I requested a carton of each to take home. The price was exceptionally reasonable. I also had sufficient salad and crabcake to take home for tomorrow’s lunch (probably will end up a crab-pita).

Dessert choice was coconut sorbet served in a half coconut shell.  Half would have been a sufficient portion, but that would not carry home too well.  A top contender for best sorbet I've tasted to date.

Dinner this evening:  Creamy chicken asparagus soup.

See – there is no excuse! And there is no excuse to not accept the provisions that have been made for us spiritually.

2 Peter 1:3 says, “seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”

Everything.
Everything pertaining to life.
Everything pertaining to godlinesss.

God’s divine power is pretty encompassing isn’t it – and I have no reason to whine and say I would but I am not, I can’t, I don’t have … as though they are real reasons for not remaining committed. Not when everything has already been provided.

Nope, no excuse.

Floyd and I discovered this restaurant last year when we were staying nearby at the Lazy Cloud B&B (a gift from David for our Anniversary.)We also found our dinners to be delicious while healthy, and were delighted with the service and presentation! It was a wonderful postscript to a very special day! :-)
