Day 267 - Recipe for happiness

Cooked asparagus in Pacific organic chicken broth
added a little garlic
Meanwhile, cook chicken chunks in more broth, this time with Herbs de Province, salt, and onion
Reserve asparagus tips for garnish.  Blend the asparagus and a little broth and add to the chicken and broth mixture.  Stir in creamy mixture of your choice - usually cream or half and half for us - and serve.

The whole meal takes about 10-15 minutes to prepare.  If you like a thicker soup, you can add 1/2 cup of tiny pasta (like pastina) to the asparagus and cook together.  It takes about 9 minutes.  Fork the asparagus into the blender and add the pasta to the chicken mixture.  Or just make the soup earlier in the day and let it simmer on warm for about an hour.  The pasta swells to about 1/4" round balls, and absorbs much of the broth.

And now The Recipe for Happiness:  Philippians 4:12 and 13 "I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty.  Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am."   Taste and see - the Lord is good.
