Day 42 - Making peace

Shiloh means Messiah or peace maker.  Genesis 49:10 is one of God's prophetic names that refers to God the Son - Jesus. “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes, And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples. "

Until Shiloh comes.  I like that.  It can remind me of the hope the people had before Jesus came and walked the earth and it can also remind me of the hope we have today that Shiloh (Jesus) said he would come again.  Until then, he is teaching me to make peace with who He is and with who I am, and who I am in Christ.

Preparing my kitchen for success has been a challenge.  I'm still 'almost done' as I had errands outside of the house for most of the day and one of them brought me before the reduced for sale sugar-free Dove raspberry-cream chocolates at Walgreens (they are still there but I had to return them to the shelf before checking out).  To some this is a small thing but it is a big victory for me.  My sister and I were laughing tonight about our mutual goals and mutual personality quirks.  Her hubby said he would go into a store and buy the item he needed - even if it cost more than he expected - and leave.  She (and most women he assumes) on the other hand are nabbed by things on sale - and we will pay half the price it usually cost just to get the bargain even if we don't need it.  Hmmm.  Sad to say I've done that more times than I wanted to admit.  My Dad used to say two elephants for a quarter is not a deal if you do not need elephants, have no place to put them, and are unable to feed them.   So - we've been practicing those questions I started with yesterday - and today asking will this help my health goals or not helped me put the candy back.  Sugar free, yes.  But benefit?  None.  I got home and baked up a storm of healthy things... including high protein chocolate pudding and a unique breakfast. Oh, yummy.  What I left behind would never compare to this.  I'm blessed to also not be looking back over my shoulder and saying I should've bought it... I'm at peace with the decision, and my health goals.  Bread is rising the second time, so I'd better finish this and pop them in the oven.

Breakfast:  Raw Yogurt Creme Brulee
Lunch: Buffalo Filet and Salad with Sugar Snap Peas
Dinner:  Corned Beef hash and pineapple baked together.  Ambrosia cole slaw (mandarin oranges and dressing made from 3 parts sour cream, 1 part mayonnaise, and 4 parts cranberry vinigrette.  Topped with a little coconut and a few cranberries.  Very delish :)
