Day 44 - Meek and Mighty

El Gibbor - the Mighty God - Isaiah 9:6 speaks of Jesus - "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God - (El Gibbor), Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."  The same word that is used here for mighty to describe God is also used for soldiers who showed exceptional strength, valor and prowess in battle.  Other verses about God using the name El Gibbor shows that God promises to use His mighty powers on behalf of His people.   That to me is the essence of meekness - restraining that mighty power for the good of others. I think of the massive strength in weight lifters and professional sportsmen and imagine a tiny bird in their hands. They have the power to crush it or to protect it.   The all-mighty power of God is so much more than the power of mankind, yet God assures us in many places that He will defend us from our enemies.  He will even protect me from myself.    As I rest myself in His hands, He also will imbue me with strength to use what He has given me for the benefit and protection of others.  I pray that the things I learn and share through this year will strengthen others in their battles and be a beacon that would reveal the place of protection for tender hearts.

Breakfast:  Raw milk yogurt topped with Berries and Apricot juice - so yummy
Lunch:  Finish abundance of Reuben makings - Spelt bread, corned beef, mozzerella
Dinner:  Oven roasted chicken breast, brocolli and prune-pecan custard.  Only ate half the chicken.
