Day 66 - eating with the King of Glory

A rather overscheduled day led to one meal and two snacks.  One benefit - the planned dinner is ready for lunch tomorrow!

Requested pronunciation guide to Hebrew names of God:
letter       pronounced as in
a = ah            hurrah
ai = uy           buy
e = eh            get
ey = ay          day
i = ee             see
u = oo           soon

some of the other letters such as ch and kh is a sound made in the back of the throat and have no English translation.  Hope this helps

Psalm 24:7-10 reveals Melekh HaKavod (Mehl-ehkh Hah-kah-vod) - King of Glory.

Lift up your heads, O gates, And be lifted up, O ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in! Who is the King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates, And lift them up, O ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in! Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

Psalm 24 is the song the Jewish people sang when they carried the ark into their city.  The priests would shout who is the King of glory and the people would answer, The LORD...

The gates represented access to the city and sometimes the gates only needed to be raised or opened a portion to accommodate the arrival of peoples or a caravan.  This song calls out to the gates and doors to lift up for the Lord is great - both in capacity and in honor to expect Him to enter beneath the doors - He will fill all the space awaiting.

Of course my spiritual application is evident that I need to open wide the doors of each area of my life that the King of Glory - Melekh HaKavod - may come in.  Just as in other Bible verses, (Revelation 5:8 etc), we are reminded that God is ready and willing to take up abode in us - to be our center and fill our being - but - He allows us the choice of saying yes or no.  I too, like to think of the timelines between the gates and the ancient doors.  Kind of the old and the new - and that Melekh HaKavod wants to come in and be the King of Glory over my past as well as my present which thanks to God also contains the seed of my future.

A great name to begin a new week - giving Him sovereign authority over my past and my present, for of course HE is my future.

Breakfast - no picture - sliced golden delicious apple.
Late Lunch: Italian green beans and corn.  Topped with spices and MCT oil (made from coconut but tastes like butter to me)

Snack:  Cara Cara, sliced - so refreshing.
