Day 67 - Planning for level two of detox

One more day of fruits and vegetables and I will ease back into protein.  One thing that will greatly help is warm foods, so today was shopping for veggie soups.  A basic vegetable soup using sweet instead of white potatoes, beet soup and possibly more of that delightful asparagus soup are some recipes I've been looking over.

Since I've restarted the Vitamin C, Barlean's yummy lemon-smoothie Cod Liver Oil, and liquid Vitamin D, I've been improving daily and hope tomorrow to get fully back to normal energy.  I also bought extra carrots to juice, and that always helps chase away any cold or fever.  I know I've not been up to par when presented with a huge chocolate bar by a friend and I just slipped it into my Bible for later when I feel up to adding other foods.   Right now I don't want to tip the balance, (my hormones were also off the wall without supplements), but I was able to get back on the rebounder and almost totally caught up on Bible Study reading while on the treadmill at a little slower than usual pace.

Today it seems appropriate to share  Esh okhlah - Consuming Fire - from Deuteronomy 4:24.  The consuming fire refers to an offering by fire, which certainly describes Christ's life and interestingly the translation is explained by using a seldom used word - zealous which some translate jealous.  “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous/zealous God."  One dictionary translates this passion to: being full of, characterized by, or due to zeal; ardently active, devoted, or diligent; and another: marked by fervent partisanship for a person, a cause, or an ideal.  Writing this out in my own words would certainly bring me to the conclusion that yes, the life of Jesus was so passionate and devoted to His cause to redeem us at any cost, that He was what Moses experienced - a consuming fire. Moses was speaking from personal experience and warning of the danger of complacency. The verse prior sets the scene for me as well - "Deuteronomy 4:23 “So watch yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which He made with you, and make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the LORD your God has commanded you. For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God."  Esh okhlah wants that same devotion - not the Lord and... add (anything).  Personally, that is the kind of love I wanted (and have been blessed with) from my husband - a love and devotion that has room for no other.  How amazing that God first loved us that way!

And speaking of Ken - he gave me a gift card for Valentine's day that I finally used tonight... got a pair of toning tennis shoes, and some dishes you'll probably see on here soon.

Breakfast:  Golden delicious apple
Lunch:  Veggie Plate with Italian green beans, fresh peas, yellow carrot slices, wonderful baked golden beets and in the center the red Crakovia rubbed beets - delicious.  You can find the Italian beans at Tenuta's in Kenosha and the rest at Woodmans.  And yes, I started eating before I remembered to grab the camera :)
Dinner:  Spinach salad, with strawberries and onions.  Topped with warmed berry dressing.
