Day 223 -224 Choose Life - continued

Continuing the ideas of ways we can choose life:

6) Choose untreated sea salt – did you know the white sea salt got that way with bleach? Yuck.  Try Celtic Salt or Pink Himalayan Salt.  I also use mixed salts like celery salt and rosemary-cranberry salt

7) Cut your own carrot sticks – bleach water also preserves those cute pre-cut mini carrots.

8) Check your meats – and if necessary contact the manufacturer to see what type of feed they use. I got unexpected increased mercury levels from eating a certain brand of chicken because the company feeds their chicken fish meal!

9) Get outside – 15 minutes per day or take 2 drops of liquid Vitamin D

10) Take the stairs instead of the elevator. If you have a shortage of time, ride up and walk down. Down is better for building the bones.

11) Portion leftovers and freeze instead of refrigerating. They will be fresher when you thaw and reheat.

Food these days:
Homemade Pizza - Greek Pita for the crust, sauce, sausage and cheese found at RangerCity marketplace in Wausaukee, WI.  Side of fruit - Strawberries,Blueberries and Santa Claus Melon

Senor Sol in Mequon - the Pineapple, Mango & Ice drink was awesome. I took half home, froze it and it was just as good.

Dinner there was the Fajita plate - steak and chicken. Very good, and enough for Ken to finish for lunch the next day.  It came with warm flour tortillas.

Last picture - Leftovers from Minoqua - Lightly breaded fish and garlic potato ball that was browned. Sauce is lemon-garlic

Another spiritual way to choose life is to monitor a month of your life. (Everything in the month would be great, but is unrealistic - so let's just say the money you spend for food and what the food is).  The idea can be found in many verses.

The theme verse of the blog, for instance, is Isaiah 55:2 - asking why I would spend my money on things that will not give me life...  A simple column - date - amount - life and (your choice of words here) junk? - I prefer writing the word death because it reminds me that unwholesome foods actually do shorten our lives.

When I look at a month of the choices I made, I can easily see where my heart is and exactly what is controlling the areas mentioned in Isaiah 55:2 and 3. It's becoming a habit now to look at a menu and say "Choose Life."
