Days 326 - 327 - Journaling

Journaling spiritual thoughts, life happenings, and yes, what I eat and type and duration of exercise, continue to be an important foundation.  If I cannot see where I have been, it is harder to determine where I am going, until I find myself on a detour because I was daydreaming.

I really like the program Weight by Date.  It is reasonably priced, and helps keep track of daily calorie intake and output, including calories burned just by normal living.  It is encouraging as you input either meal content or activity info and can instantly see how the day has begun, what needs to be done to complete the day with a minus calorie count (as long as I am losing weight), and how many calories are left to consume for that day.  It also has many charts and a cheering session for each 2# lost.  Check it out.  It is about the fourth of the cost of those fancy armbands using electronics to read the same input.

Sunday's food was a birthday party - My choices were the lettuce wrap above with Roast Beef and onions, White Yams cooked with sweet red peppers, and half a squash (in the bowl) topped with High Protein Chili (beef and lentils) and Sour Cream.   Thought I had a picture of dessert (crustless Pumpkin Pie and whipped cream sweetened with Agave Nectar and Stevia)

Monday's pic is the leftover Tortilla Chips I scavenged, cheese, mushroom and onions.  Had a full day out - home for 'lunch' at 8 p.m. Too late to eat more than that.

Did you know scripture encourages writing?  One of the verses I like about this topic is 1John 1:4 And these things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.

So what are these things that we write?  Here is the context:
1John 1:1 -3 From the very first day, we were there, taking it all in—we heard it with our own ears, saw it with our own eyes, verified it with our own hands. The Word of Life appeared right before our eyes; we saw it happen! And now we’re telling you in most sober prose that what we witnessed was, incredibly, this: The infinite Life of God himself took shape before us.  We saw it, we heard it, and now we’re telling you so you can experience it along with us, this experience of communion with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.

Simply put, we are sharing our experiences with the Lord - saying "Look what God has done!"

Our motive for writing is simply this: We want you to enjoy this, too. Your joy will double our joy!

1John 1:5and 6 further explain:
This, in essence, is the message we heard from Christ and are passing on to you: God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him.

And we are to be honest, because others will recognize that "if we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim."
