- Feeling dissatisfied and uneasy if the day starts rushed and either The Lord's Table or exercise get pushed aside until noon or later.
- Recognizing healthy food faster (and unhealthy - label reading is speed reading now)
- Noticing the refrigerator is more filled with color! Grandkids were looking for corn (I hardly eat it anymore as it is a grain not a vegetable and corn does not break-down/digest at all). Anyway, the only yellow veggie was Zucchini...everything else was green or red. That's a very good sign.
- Noticing that many people around us are getting colds and flu symptoms. We are not. Processed foods - esp. refined carbs and sugar hinder the immune system. Encouraging to know eating right affects more than the waistline and keeps one healthier, longer.
- I can stop eating when I am full even if there is more on the plate or in the serving dish.
- I used to have trouble getting 3 glasses of water down - now it is a habit to drink a glassful first thing in the morning, before and during each meal, and one in the evening. A refreshing habit.
I guess habit is the key word for me on every one of the above reasons - repeating the action day after day and week after week has created new healthy habits. It works.
Here are two more habits that improves health:
Psalm 64:10 Be glad, good people! Fly to GOD!
Good-hearted people, make praise your habit.
Prov. 4:20-22 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them,
And health to their whole body.
